Privacy policy

This notice says what happens to information you give Pomphrey & Sons Ltd through this website, and what the website itself records. It covers this website only.

Who is responsible

Pomphrey & Sons Limited is responsible for the information collected through this website. The company is at 98 Kingsland Road, St Philips, Bristol BS2 0QZ, and you can reach us on 0117 955 6133 or at sales@pomphrey.com.

The website is built and hosted for us by Mediatopia, who act on our instructions and do not use your information for anything of their own.

What you send us, and why

An enquiry. The enquiry forms ask for your name, your company if you have one, your email address, your telephone number, what the enquiry is about and your message. We use it to answer you and, where you have asked for equipment, to quote for it.

An equipment enquiry. Asking about a particular machine sends the same details along with which machine you were looking at, so we know what you are asking about.

A job application. The vacancies form asks for your name, email address, telephone number, a message and your CV. We use it to consider you for a role.

A photograph. If you send us a picture of your bay so we can advise on it, we use the photograph to answer that enquiry.

Where it goes

Anything you send arrives as an email to us and is kept in the system behind this website, which only we can log into.

A CV or a photograph is held in private storage — not published, not indexed, and not reachable by anybody who has not been sent it. The file itself is attached to the email that tells us about your application, so the CV goes straight to the person who reads it.

We do not sell your information, we do not pass it to anybody for marketing, and we do not send you marketing you did not ask for.

Cookies, and what the website records

This website sets no cookies. There is nothing to accept or refuse, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to put in one.

We count visits with Plausible, which measures pages rather than people: it sets no cookies, keeps no identifier for you, and cannot follow you to another website.

Two typefaces load from Google Fonts, and the map on our contact page is an OpenStreetMap window. Loading either means your browser connects to those services, which is how any website with a map or a webfont works.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Ring or email us on the details above and we will do it.

If you think we have got something wrong and we have not put it right, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Tell us what the workshop needs.
